The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead has a good planning service which we are aiming to transform to excellent.
The Royal Borough has recently undertaken a very successful recruitment campaign however has a vacancy for an experienced Planning Enforcement Officer.
This is an ideal post for a person with previous experience in enforcement or development control looking to take their next steps in a very interesting Borough. You will investigate alleged breaches of planning control, collecting and collating evidence, monitoring compliance with planning conditions, and preparing reports for draft notices.
The successful applicant will form part of the Planning Enforcement Team within the Place directorate and will report to the Enforcement and Conservation Team Manager. The ability to develop and maintain relationships with council members, officers, statutory bodies, applicants and agents is essential and the applicant must have a high level of diplomacy.
Windsor and Maidenhead is an economically resilient and growing Borough. Located within easy access of Central London it is an attractive place for business growth and investment. The two main towns have different planning pressures; there is the culture and heritage of Windsor and the regeneration of Maidenhead. There are also smaller towns and villages, many located in the green belt, where the pressure of development is of concern to local people.
This is a good place to live and work. There are excellent transport connections to London and the West of England, with the new Elizabeth Line opening in Maidenhead in 2019.
We are a busy service dealing with a wide range of Enforcement, conservation and planning matters. You would be dealing with a range of cases and will gain great experience in this role.
