The Windsor School Sport Partnership is based at The Windsor Boys’ School, and is a part of the Windsor Learning Partnership. Our primary focus is to support, develop, deliver and strategically lead Physical Education and School Sport development for our partner first, primary, middle and upper schools in Windsor. From September 2018 we are looking to expand our offer to schools so that we can support them with the Health & Wellbeing of their young people.
At the Windsor School Sport Partnership we constantly look to improve the experience of those young people involved in our events, projects and programmes. This role will put you at the heart of the school, working closely with national partners including the Youth Sport Trust, Sport England, Get Berkshire Active and key National Governing Bodies. You will play a key role in helping us build a successful and dynamic physical activity and health & wellbeing programme. For the right person this is a unique opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills in supporting children and young people across Windsor, to be more resilient when facing the pressures of modern day life.
Physical Activity and Health & Wellbeing Coordinator Details:
This is a brand new full time position starting from September 2018, initially a one year fixed term contract. Part time applications will also be considered. The successful candidate will be required to work in the Windsor School Sport Partnership offices based at The Windsor Boys’ School, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only), and across a range of schools in Windsor. The successful candidate will receive mentoring with experienced professionals, opportunities to access high quality professional development and career guidance if desired. We are looking for someone who has experience in working with young people, ideally in school settings delivering health promotion, education or physical activity initiatives
Specifics: The successful candidate will primarily be working in schools supporting groups of young people, and will therefore need to be competent at delivering high quality sessions. They will also require excellent computer skills especially in MS Excel and MS Word. Attention to detail will be essential, a clear understanding of the need to be professional at all times and be highly organised, excellent at forming relationships with teachers and other professionals. The partnership is a creative organisation therefore you will be expected to be passionate about physical activity, health and wellbeing and the opportunities that it can offer young people to develop. The successful candidate should be willing to plan, develop and deliver innovative programmes, including the organisation and promotion of specific programmes, with the aim to improve young people’s health and emotional wellbeing. After your initial induction and training, your role is likely to include the following responsibilities:
- To develop and lead targeted programmes, e.g. an emotional wellbeing programme, ActiveME, change4life, which will empower schools to make sustainable healthy changes in the future
- To monitor the effectiveness and success of all programmes delivered within the role
- To deliver and/or organise the CPD training courses which will build capacity within schools
- To contribute to the administration, marketing and promotion of the service.
- To support the WSSP collect and produce all necessary data information needed to demonstrate impact of service.
- To ensure the health, safety and welfare of young people engaged in various programmes ensuring all safeguarding concerns are reported.
- To maintain a high level of appropriate skills and knowledge by undertaking personal CPD and training
- Post holders will be expected to be flexible in undertaking the duties and responsibilities attached to their posts and maybe asked to perform other duties.
It is essential that you have a full clean driving licence and are willing to drive as part of the role.
