Vacancy Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to operate within our Community Warden Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, whose area includes both urban and rural communities such as Ascot, Bray, Cookham, Datchet, Eton, Sunninghill, Sunningdale and a number of smaller villages.

This role is a varied and interesting one. It involves providing a professional uniformed presence to deter crime and anti-social behaviour, linking with vulnerable people, as well as joining in with activities and community events. You will need to be fit, alert, have excellent communication and observational skills, enjoy meeting people, and relish working outdoors.

You will need to be able to compile accurate reports, which are passed to relevant agencies and key stakeholders for attention. You will also be required to carry out enforcement duties on a range of anti-social behaviour, in particular littering and dog fouling.

You will be working in a team environment following a shift pattern that includes evenings, weekends and occasional late night duties with the Borough’s Night Time Economy team. A full driving licence and use of a car is required for the post, for which a business user allowance is paid.

The council is set in a major tourism area with tourist attractions including Windsor Castle, Legoland and Ascot Racecourse and with the Royal Family on the doorstep, the borough will be playing a major part in the Royal Wedding later this year.
